We have normal, easy trashouts every day. These run-of-the-mill jobs are the meat and potatoes of our existence. This is what they look like. [caption id="attachment_384" align="aligncenter" width="640" caption="A tidy bedroom."][/caption] There was nothing particularly outstanding about this residence. It's located in an older suburb and has the feel of a cabin, which it may well have been when it was built some 70 years ago. [caption id="attachment_385" align="aligncenter" width="425" caption="The dining room."][/caption] It took Dirty Dave and me about three hours to completely clean this house out, including the garage. There were few challenges for us trash masters, no massive appliances (the old fridges in a basement are the worst), no vermin, no biohazards. The basement. Notice the footprints: these were due to a carpet saturated with water. We'll be back to perform a water extraction. [/caption] Everything in the basement was too wet to salvage, but many items in the house were clean and usable. We donated them to a local charity. [caption id="attachment_387" align="aligncenter" width="640" caption="The kitchen."][/caption] Still, it adds up. We had nearly two tons of debris that we removed from the property, not counting the items we donated. [caption id="attachment_388" align="aligncenter" width="640" caption="This is what we hauled to the dump."][/caption] [caption id="attachment_389" align="aligncenter" width="640" caption="We saved these items to donate to needy families."][/caption] So what happens after we finish a job like this? We do another one. One of our crews did five trashouts last week; three per day is not rare. These jobs are easy, and provide us with some respite between the truly disgusting homes.
