A “Mint” Tarp Job

Handy Randy the Roof Master.

Randy Ivesdale embodies the DuAll spirit. Not only is a multifaceted master of all things construction (and a heckuva Bobcat driver), Randy also takes great pride in his work. The other day, as I entered the office, he came up to me and said, “hey, if you get a chance, I’d like you to take a look at a tarp job I did. It turned out mint.”

Later that day, I grabbed my camera and went to see what he was talking about.

Part of the tarp job.

This property had experienced some roof damage, and with snow in the forecast, Randy headed out to make sure everything was taken care of.

He found a simple, elegant solution. He laid tarps over the offending sections of roof, then framed the tarps with 2x4s, making a series of perfect rectangles. Thus, the home is protected, and even though this is a temporary solution, it looks good. Professional.

My pics of the tarp job are less than stellar, as you can see. But my point in this post isn’t visual. I was struck by how much pride Randy took in this job, and he wanted me to see it. That’s exactly the kind of people that we seek out here at DuAll.

Each job presents unique challenges, and we salute those who meet those challenges with innovation and pride. Well done, Randy. We look forward to seeing more of your work.

    My dearest Pete,
Sometimes we need you more in the office than the field. This is one of those times. Suck it up, my friend. Dream on, go Vikes! Just sayin……

  2. I want to see him clear that roof with his Bobcat.

  3. Julie, I know it. The office has been kind to me. But a boy can dream about garbage, can’t he?
